From clinic to villa: the story of Villa Beaulieu

Our house has lived many lives. Before Villa Beaulieu became what it is today, it was a guesthouse, a villa, and for decades the village clinic. That history still lives in every room, and it is a good reason to stay here.

Pension Joos, from 1868

It all began in 1868, when Pension Joos opened its doors to travellers crossing the Engadin. St. Moritz was just finding its feet, and the house by the lake became one of the first places where guests came to stay.

Klinik Gut, from 1941

In 1941, on the same spot, Klinik Gut opened, the celebrated alpine clinic of the Engadin. For more than eighty years it cared for the valley, a name still known to everyone in St. Moritz. Where generations of doctors once worked, we now welcome guests again.

A villa once more, since 2026

Since 2026 the house is once again what it was first built to be: a villa. Where the clinic's consulting rooms once stood, breakfast now runs long. Much has been kept and still tells its story, from the old stone pine to the rooms with their own names.
